One of my favourite things to photograph in Bushy Park is the annual stealing of the fur fair, not a real fair but it sounded good in my head! Each year around April / May the Jackdaw of the park descend on the unsuspecting Deer who call the park home.

The Jackdaw begin to pull out the fur from the Deer to use for their nests throughout the park. The Deer don’t seem to mind the hair cutting process too much, until there’s too many that is! As you can see in some of my photos below. I think the Deer like this because it helps them to shed their winter coats in time for the Summer.

I’ve seen this behaviour countless times at the park and every year I can’t help but venture out to see what photos I can get of the annual thievery.
